Another week of fishing on Bemidji area lakes has come and gone, and little has changed. Fishing has still been very good. Summer patterns are pretty much in place on most lakes now. Walleye fishing may have slowed this past week, but is still very good for mid July.
Northern pike action has also been very good, with some bigger pike showing up this past week. Musky fishing has been getting better, with a few muskies being boated. Bass fishing has been great, with numbers of bass being caught. Crappie and bluegills action has also been very good, again with large numbers of these fish being caught. Perch anglers are doing well too. Nice perch are being caught on shallow wind blown sand and cabbage flats. The Bemidji area also has two small lakes that are stocked with trout, and the trout are also biting good now. A trout stamp is needed to fish these lakes, so don't forget to buy your trout stamp before fishing these lakes.
